Discover Jesus
john 20:19-29
Adrian preached from John 20, beginning with a story about new headphones that finally let him hear clearly—only because they were discoverable. He used this as a picture of being open to Jesus. He described the disciples between Easter and Pentecost: fearful, uncertain, locked away, until Jesus appeared saying “Peace be with you,” bringing calm and purpose. His words carry power, just as they did on the stormy lake when He said, “Peace, be still.” Jesus then commissioned them: “As the Father has sent me, so send I you.” Adrian urged us not to fear difficult seasons, because Jesus comes, calms, and sends. He also reflected on Thomas, who needed to see Jesus’ wounds for himself. Jesus met him with openness, inviting belief. Adrian reminded us that God has made each of us unique, loved, and called.
