vision + Values

We want to see our lives, our church, and our community, renewed by God's grace

OUR VISION

Grace is the undeserved, unearned and unwavering love of God; it is His gift to us. Not because we are worthy, but because He is good. Grace is God reaching down to lift us up, forgiving our past, renewing our present and shaping our future. Grace doesn’t just pardon, it transforms, it welcomes the outsider, heals the broken and strengthens the weary. It is patient when we fail and powerful when we cannot. Grace is the heartbeat of the Gospel and the reason we live with hope. As a church we live in grace, and go with grace, extending the same mercy and kindness we have received to those around us.

OUR VALUES

FELLOWSHIP + MISSION

We love to meet together as the people of God. Fellowship on every level is important and encouraged. We look to build strong personal relationships. We want people to discover what becoming a Christian is all about and the hope of the Gospel. Not only reconnecting with a God who loves us; but finding the joy and peace of living a Christian life. We encourage people to share their faith with others on a personal basis. Inviting others to encounter Jesus for themselves.

DISCIPLEShip

We aim not to just ‘do church’ and have a surface level relationship with God. Our longing is that everyone is deeply affected by the gospel and has a growing love and affection for Jesus that leads to obedience and acts of faith. The commission of Jesus was “go and make disciples.”

PRAYER

We pray together as a church family and as individuals. In prayer we approach God, and we do this by thanking Him, asking for His will to be done in our lives and in our church, and by presenting our needs to Him; for healing, salvation, provision and guidance. We meet with expectation that God hears and answers our prayer.

WORSHIP

We enjoy times of worship. It’s what we were made to do!  In our worship we sing, clap, lift our hands, pray out loud, speak to God… sometimes it’s planned, sometimes it’s spontaneous.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We value the baptism of the Holy Spirit for believers. We believe that the Holy Spirit speaks to us today. We value and believe for supernatural signs according to the Bible because this empowers the Church for its mission in the world.

WATER BAPTISM + COMMUNION

We believe in the two sacraments of Water Baptism and Communion. We accept what the Bible teaches us that after conversion, an outward sign of this is to be baptised in water. We do this to publicly demonstrate our commitment as a disciple of Jesus; that our old life is gone, and our new life has begun with Him.

We also celebrate and remember the finished work of Jesus on the cross by taking communion – bread and juice – usually once a month when we meet together.

GIVING

We see financial giving as both our privilege and responsibility as believers. We call it ‘tithes’ because, typically, we give at least 10% of what we have to God through the work and mission of the church. But, we love to give more too.  The Bible teaches about this, saying that if we give freely we’ll reap bountifully!

SERVING

We make opportunity for the sharing of skills and gifts with each other and we do this by ‘serving’ on a team (worship, kids, setup, small groups, discipleship…). If you call Renewal Church your home then talk with us about how you can serve alongside us so that we can share the great news of Jesus together, and share in real life and family.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Our faith is rooted in the eternal God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Find out more about our doctrinal values.
