Easter Sunday

Colossians 2:13–16

Michael preached from Colossians 2, using the contrast between a chaotic wardrobe and the neatly folded grave clothes in the empty tomb to highlight the order and victory of Jesus’ resurrection. He reminded us that although we were dead in our sins and burdened with a “certificate of debt,” Jesus took that weight upon Himself. At the cross, our IOU was wiped away—cancelled, erased, nailed there with Him. Though He was faultless, He carried our sin and shame so that we could be made alive and free. Michael encouraged us to celebrate the freedom Christ has won, because our sin was great, but His grace is greater.
