John 11: 1-44
Jamie preached from John 11, reflecting on the death and raising of Lazarus and the deep friendship Jesus shared with Martha, Mary, and their brother. Although the sisters sent word that Lazarus was sick, Jesus delayed His arrival, and by the time He reached Bethany, Lazarus had been dead four days—“he stinketh,” as Jamie highlighted. Both sisters expressed their grief and disappointment, yet Jesus entered their pain and reminded them that belief would reveal the glory of God. He commanded the stone to be rolled away, called Lazarus out of the tomb, and instructed the people to unbind him. Their prayers were answered in a way they never expected. The message reminded us that God’s timing is not ours, His plans are higher, and He has not given up on our situations. He cares, He knows what is best, and He remains Lord over all.
